The present work was started in the month of March, 2007 with the receipt of financial assistance of Rs. 28800.00 as 1 installment and the project has continued till 12th March. 2009 with the help of II installment Rs. 18500.00 and has been completed upto the level of previously determined goal. I am extremely grateful to Dr. P.L. Pareekh, former Principal and Shri. B.S. Shishodia former vice Principal for their constant encouragement to undertake Minor Research Project on the topic of my own interest in the field of environment and of national as well as of local importance. I am grateful to the U.G.C., Bhopal (M.P.) for sanctioning of the Minor Research Project entitled, "Certain water characteristics indicative of water pollution, eutrophication & lake type- a case study of lake Udiasagar, Udaipur (Rajasthan)" in which I found an opportunity to work as Principal Investigator, without this financial help the work could not have been completed. I am also grateful to Dr. D.R. Swami, Dr. Mrs. Sheela Bhansali and Dr. N.C. Sharma. former Principals for their keen interest, guidance and providing basic facilities for smooth running of the project.
